The Textile & Apparel (T&A) sector in Italy is characterized by the presence of numerous supply chains, mainly constituted by SMEs, located in several industrial districts. In Lombardy Region the "Fashion Meta-district" is active and T&A sector represents one of the areas of excellence with around 16.000 enterprises and a turnover of around 14 millions of Euro. Inside the "Fashion Meta-district" there are more than 120.000 employees. Lombardy Region is characterized by a multiplicity of SMEs along the whole T&A chain (spinning, weaving, finishing, wrapping, embroidery, knitting; besides the other sectors for clothing accessories). The enterprises are often highly specialized in a single phase of the whole production process.

Centro Tessile Cotoniero e Abbigliamento S.p.a.

Centro Tessile Cotoniero e Abbigliamento S.p.a., known as Centrocot, was founded on 7 October 1987 in Busto Arsizio on the initiative of entrepreneurial and trade associations, public authorities (Chamber of Commerce, Province, Municipalities) and local banks. The Centrocot mission is to provide specialised services to companies throughout the whole chain of the textile and clothing sector.
